Connecting Kraken

Follow these steps carefully to generate a Read-Only API key from Kraken and connect it to Alara.

  1. 1. Log in:

Go to Kraken.com and log in.
  2. 2. Find API Settings:

Profile Name (top right) -> "Security" -> "API".
  3. 3. Add Key:

Click "+ Add Key" or "Generate New Key".
  4. 4. Set Permissions (IMPORTANT!):

    Under "Permissions":
    • ONLY CHECK "Query" permissions. (Like `Query Funds`, `Query Orders & Trades`, `Query Ledger Entries`).
    • DO NOT CHECK anything for Orders, Withdrawals, etc. (Like `Create Orders`, `Withdraw Funds`).
Alara only needs to read data.
  5. 5. Nonce Window (Optional):

    Default settings are usually fine.
  6. 6. Generate Key:

Click "Generate Key". Complete 2FA check.
  7. 7. Copy Keys:

Copy API Key. Copy Private Key (like a Secret Key, shown only once!). Store both safely.
  8. 8. Enter in Alara:

Go to Alara Dashboard -> Connect New Exchange -> Select "Kraken". Paste API Key and Private Key. Name it. Click "Connect".

VPN Note: Kraken's API is generally accessible without a VPN for supported regions.

Exchange interfaces change frequently. If these steps seem outdated, please refer to Kraken's official API documentation or contact our support.
